As soon as you enter the Create a new listing form, a draft is saved in the app. Any changes that you make are automatically saved as you work. You can return to this screen any time and resume where you left off.

What is the difference between Product Info and Description?

If you have selected an item from eBay's product catalog, the Product Info will automatically be included as part of the description. Product Info provides a general description of the item as it appears in eBay's catalog. You can choose whether or not to include Product Info.

The Description should include the details of the actual item you are selling including any special information not included in the product info. For example, you might include information on whether the item has unique properties or if there are any details about the condition that are important for the buyer to know.

Do I have to include a photo with my listing? How many photos can I include in my listing?

Photos are not required but they are highly recommended as this is very important when a buyer is comparing your item with another similar item. The eBay Android app will allow you to include a total of 8 photos with your listing.

Can I rearrange the stock photo included in my listing?

A stock photo is automatically included if you have prepopulated your listing from eBay's product catalog. You can delete a stock photo but it cannot be rearranged.

Why isn't the quality of the image on my listing as good as the original I uploaded?

The maximum size for an uploaded photo is 800x800 pixels. If the original file submitted by the app is larger than this, eBay's servers will automatically downsize to image to 800x800 pixels.

How come the app won't let me zoom in closer on some of my photos?

Some photos may not be high enough resolution to support zooming in on a specific area of the photo. Try uploading a higher resolution version of the photo.

How do I include HTML in the item description?

When you select Add description or Edit description you will be prompted to choose an editing mode (HTML or plain text). If you select the HTML mode you can enter your description using HTML markup. If you have a template that you like to include in your description that includes HTML, we recommend that you save that information on your device (in an email or in a note) and then use copy and paste to include it as part of the description when listing from the phone.

Why can't I revise my listing description?

If your listing already has a bid on it or it is close to the end of the auction, you cannot revise the listing description. In this situation, you may want to append the description with additional text by selecting the Add to description button below the preview of the description.

How come when I select 'Sell One Like This' only some of the information is included in the listing?

If the item is included in eBay's product catalog, the catalog information will be prepopulated in the form (title, category, stock photo and product info). If the item is not in eBay's catalog, only the category will be prepopulated to ensure that item-specific content and/or photos are not carried over from one listing to another.

Why do I need to be registered to sell and what information do I need to provide?

To sell on eBay, you need to register with eBay and create a seller's account. Both are free. During this one-time process, you'll provide information to verify your identity, select how you'll pay your seller fees, and let eBay know which payment methods you'll accept from buyers.

By registering to sell, eBay can verify your identity and ensure that eBay remains a safe place to buy and sell. Your account information is protected on our secure servers and is covered by our Privacy Policy.

How much will it cost to sell an item on eBay?

Each time you list an item on eBay, you may be charged an Insertion Fee and other special option fees. When the item sells, you may also be charged a Final Value Fee. Therefore, the total cost of selling an item is the Insertion Fee plus the Final Value Fee.

When you Review your listing, the app will provide an itemised summary of the insertion fees you will be charged based on many factors including the listing format, starting price and category selected for the item. You can learn more about Insertion, Special Option and Final Value Fees on eBay's website (link provided below).
